Although Nepal is an agriculture-based country, agricultural production remains low. Even the produce that is grown often goes to waste due to the lack of proper markets and fair pricing. To end this situation, there is a vision to reform the current agricultural subsidy system — aiming to increase production, ensure the sale of agricultural products, prevent waste, enhance productivity, and make the country self-reliant in agriculture. This approach is expected to strengthen the overall economy.
